That is profoundly lousy about Josh being beaten up so viciously. The crappiness and dysfunction of the system that is supposed to care for him is so frustrating to contemplate that one can only shrug and avert the mind’s eye.
Yes. I wrote about it because I’m trying to sort it out in my own mind. I am not a big believer in government doing things better than the private sector, but I do think that there are certain rights that are uniform across a democracy, and they are probably physical safety, health, and education. Our government does none of them well.
