Kuala Lumpur

I feel like something out of Lonely Planet. We got up before dawn and left Penang for Kuala Lumpur, only to find out our flight to Phuket had been combined with the next one and we had given ourselves a six hour wait in the LCC terminal (that stands for Low Cost Carrier), which is not the cool and trendy part of the airport. It would be like segregating the passengers from Southwest in their own space. The tag line for Air Asia: “Now everyone can fly.” Very similar to Southwest.

I’ve seen a variety of stylin’ burkas here, and had noodle soup for breakfast. I have decided I will be as nice as possible to every Muslim I see, so at least the ones who meet ME will not hate Americans. I left my fancy Brookstone global power adapter at the hotel in Penang, and when I bought another one at the airport and tried to plug in, I found out none of the electrical outlets in the waiting room are hot. Pull-e-e-e-ze.
