I have just downloaded the new, highly touted iPhone app for Facebook. Last week I downloaded the highly acclaimed Pockettweets for Twitter. So now I can carry my Twitter and my Facebook with me.
But I already had the mobile app for Facebook and the mobile app for Twitter on my phone and I was doing just fine. I have a longer page of bookmarks now, that’s all. I don’t think I see much real improvement.
I need a couple of geeks to tell me why I am wrong :-)
The one thing I feel I really need for the iPhone? A better touch screen that recognized a left-handed person.
However, I do admit something: Twitter for me has become a series of communities within a community. I have met some wonderful people through following 140 character self-expressions. Microblogging has something to be said for it other than the fact that it’s a time suck and a way for rude people to pop off. Actually, there’s very little of that on Twitter compared to the main body of posts, and a lot of support and encouragement.

Sweet! I didn’t realize there was an iPhone app… Seems that it hasn’t helped you much, but if I figure out anything interesting with it I’ll let you know. So far I was using “facebook mobile” on my iPhone and that was working pretty well. The advancements in technology are really awesome…
After a few days of using the iPhone app, I’ve grown to like it better. But it’s not really necessary, just pretty. The functionality was already there with the mobile Facebook app.
I find that the best thing about the iPhone apps is their pretty interfaces.
