I, too, resisted the Kindle until two months ago. My reasons were much the same as you describe: literature major snobbishness, a passion for type, and paper, and books and book arts. A personal library of over 8,000 books, scattered over three states. A self-definition as a "book collector," and the dusty image that term implies.<br>I remember in the late 1990's receiving an early e-book at a EuroRSCG partners' meeting and giving it to one of my sons in distain. Now I'm hooked. I love my Kindle 2. I travel by bus, MUNI, BART and CalTrain around the Bay Area, having no car, and the Kindle travels with me. I've read many books that I may might have considered "beneath" purchase. I have the ability to switch from a business book, a white-paper, a blog, a novel or a newspaper at the touch of a button. I haven't stopped buying books. But my hard copy purchases have become more considered. The Kindle compliments them, it doesn't compete with them.<br>Tomorrow I set off first to Boston and then to Maine and am delighted to have the Kindle with me. How perfect!
