No, I think that Obama will go down with the Democratic Party ship. He hasn't failed (yet) but he will be tagged with the failure. And this post is designed to call attention to the disfunctional process going on in Congress and the fact that we will see no cost controls out of this and no attention paid to the shortage of primary care providers. I also sent it to HuffPo. People should notice all this.

I truly don't understand your logic here at all. You think that Obama somehow failed because BlueDogs exposed themselves as bought and paid for?

Today was remarkable. Nelson voted FOR the Schumer public option. That's amazing. I would not have seen that coming.

There is a very narrow needle to be threaded here. Clinton couldn't get any reform bills out of ANY committees. NOT ONE. Obama has four out of five, and the fifth will emerge. Without a public option, but the merge will fix that, or else joint committee merge. To blame Obama is, to me, just misdirected frustration at the interminable idiocy that the bluedogs and GOP bring to the table.

But that's just me. I'm willing to bet you'll see something crafted in the merge that works. At least, somewhat.
